Is God in Control of Everything?

One of the many questions that people have is: Is God in control of everything that happens on this earth? Is He the one who causes disasters and harm to others? I want to let you know that the answer is no and here’s why. It’s very evident in the Bible that satan is always on the prowl or on the move seeking someone to devour (1:Peter 5:8) The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10).

Jesus says in the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” If God were in control of everything that happens on this earth, we would not need to pray for God’s will to be done. If the devil can get people to blame God for every bad thing that happens, then he can continue to wreak havoc on the earth. When we pray for God’s will to be done His angels go to work on our behalf (Psalm 103:20) because they harken to His voice and His word. When we declare the Word of God, angels respond and go to work as ministering angels (Hebrews 1:14)

Prayer allows us to intercede on others’ behalf or on situations that occur because the prayer of the righteous availeth much and produces great results (James 5:16). Because we are the righteousness of God in Christ when we pray it produces results especially when we pray the Word of God, which is His will. Unfortunately, if you are not in the will of God, you are vulnerable to the devil to come and destroy, and that is not God’s fault at all. We were given free moral will, and if we use it to go against God’s will, then we automatically allow the devil to have access to us because we are not under God’s covering.

It’s very important to understand this because I have heard many people blame God for why someone died in their family, why children are starving, why people are homeless. Do you realize that behind the scenes, God DOES use His people to help those in need? Oftentimes, someone’s disobedience is why things don’t happen the way they should and that’s unfortunate. The devil does not have mercy on anybody because he does not know what mercy is. He is a merciless, evil thing that will come to steal any chance he can get. Sickness, disease, poverty, depression are all under the curse - and if you are not in God’s will then you are subject to being under the curse until you come to Jesus because Jesus redeemed us from all of the curse (Galatians 3:13) Oftentimes, people don’t even know they are under the curse that satan put on this earth when he deceived Adam and Eve, and because they don’t know this knowledge from the Word of God, they ultimately blame God for everything that happens.

I urge you to get into God’s Word today and ask Him for wisdom to understand His will for your life, and to understand what His will is in this world. I pray that God opens your heart and your mind to receive His word.
