It's Never Too Late!

I know we have all heard it’s too late to get it right with God, you’ve made too many mistakes or you are much older now there’s no way things can be restored. I have heard these phrases time and time again not just towards me but towards others that have felt they are too late to receive from God. The devil is a deceiver and he tries to make people feel that because of their past mistakes they can never be forgiven. If you get sucked into that lie, you are basically saying that the blood of Jesus is not powerful and that your sin is greater than the blood. This is in fact false! The blood of Jesus not only cleanses away your sins but there is forgiveness for our sins (1 John 1:9).

The Bible says in Hebrews 10:11-14 “Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again, he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”

The blood of Jesus is the ONLY thing that can take away sins and offer forgiveness for them. Nothing else! How powerful and awesome is that to know that all we have to do is receive the forgiveness that was already given to us and to receive our cleansing from all of our sins? That’s why it is never too late to repent and come to Jesus. It’s never too late to receive forgiveness and the devil knows that if he can get you into a place of guilt and shame, then you won’t ever receive your forgiveness and cleansing which is available to you. You’ve made mistakes? We all have.

The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It doesn’t have to end there. If we have made a mistake, and then repent or turn away from our sin and mistake and have a change of heart, we can move forward and start over. It’s that simple. There is no sin that can be forgiven and that includes ALL of your sins, past, present, and future because the sacrifice of Jesus happened one time and that’s all that was needed! So stop condemning yourself because there is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)

Ask the Lord to forgive you and cleanse you, and move forward. There is no point in looking back to past mistakes that have already been forgiven and remembered no more (Hebrews 8:12) If God remembers them no more, then quit replaying them in your mind. Your past is dead and gone when you become born-again! (2 Corinthians 5:17) It’s never too late for God to restore you and give you back what the enemy has stolen from you (Joel 2:25) I urge you to spend some time with the Lord, get into His Word, and understand that He loves you and always will despite your flaws and mistakes. His character does not change because God is love (1 John 4:8).
