I find that it’s easier to plan for things and know that I am in full control compared to taking things day by day and not knowing what tomorrow will bring. It’s not a bad thing to plan for things, in fact, God gives us the wisdom to plan for important events in our lives. However, there are seasons in our lives when God will tell us to slow down, and not worry about the next day but to take this step by step and day by day. We are to trust God with every part of our day. Matthew 6:34 says “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
It’s very interesting that in the previous verses, Jesus talks about common things that bring worry into people’s hearts such as what to wear, and what to eat or drink and Jesus says don’t worry about these things. Why? Because, God knows all of our needs and when you seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, all of the things you need will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).
We are to talk by faith, and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). It takes faith each step of the way to trust God with things that are uncertain at times. But with faith, we trust our faithful Father that He will provide and He will do what He has promised to do in our lives. He has never failed us and He never will! The enemy likes to trick us and have us rush things so that we do something outside of the perfect timing of God, and I want to encourage you to lean on God with your plans and your future!
He promises us that He has great plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). When you allow God to step into situations that seem uncertain, He goes to work on your behalf and He makes all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28) I urge you to take things day by day and you will begin to see the hand of God moving in your life!
