In life, every Christian has to face the fact that there is an enemy, whose name is satan who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. One of the most important things for us to remember is that not only are we not in the battle alone, but we have already defeated satan because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because we have Jesus living on the inside of us, we receive that victory and He conquered sin, hell, and the grave leaving the enemy powerless and defeated! (1 Corinthians 15:54-57)
However, if you don’t know this then the enemy will continue to play with your mind and mess with you until you get this truth lodged within your heart! The enemy is a fool and he is known as the father of lies (John 8:44). Nothing that comes from him is of the truth so he will lie to you and tell you that he is greater than you and more powerful than you and that there is no way out for you, when that is simply not true. If you are not aware of the Word of God, then yes, he has a hold over you until you are brought into the light about who you are and Whose you are!
I want to remind you of what Romans 8:37 says. Apostle Paul says “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” In the previous verses, he talks about how we Christians go through certain challenges in this life, but despite all of those challenges, we are more than conquerors because of Jesus Christ. When you hang onto this truth, the devil cannot keep you in bondage any longer because the light of the Word of God has illuminated the evil deeds of the devil, exposing his lies, and revealing the truth to you!
The enemy has nothing over a believer and follower of Jesus Christ who knows what they have and who they are in Christ. I want you to remember that you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus and whenever the enemy tries to bring up lies to accuse you, stand your ground and use the Word of God which is the sword of the spirit to extinguish those fiery darts! No Child of God is a defeated foe when they cling to this truth! If there’s anyone who is defeated, it’s satan, so continue to remind him of who he is and he will flee from you!
