Jesus, Lead the Way

Can I just start out by saying that you telling Jesus to lead the way is the best thing you can do when you have no idea how to get out of a difficult situation. It’s not a sign of weakness when you tell the Lord your concerns, but it’s a matter of submission. Have you ever felt the sign of relief when you tell the Lord what is really going on? God wants us to come to Him with our concerns, because He knows He is the only One who can take that burden from you and change those circumstances around.

If there’s anything that God wants to do for you, it’s to take those burdens off of your shoulders because they are not yours to carry. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Jesus also tells us in John 10:7-10 “Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Jesus is literally telling us that He is the one who guides us as a shepherd guides his sheep. He is not only just a shepherd, He is the Good Shepherd. He then goes on to explain that others that came before Him did not care about the sheep, but were only in it for themselves. But Jesus is not like them. He says He is good, and when He leads us, He leads us to a place where we find good pastures. This reminds me of Psalm 23:1-3 where King David says “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.”

Whatever situation you are facing today, I want to encourage you to come to Jesus and give Him your worries and cares because He cares about you (1 Peter 5:7) Let the Lord lead the way because He will never lead you astray and in Christ, you will find good pastures. In Christ, you will receive abundance of life and renewed strength! Amen.
