Pray Instead of Worry

One of the biggest tactics of the enemy is to get us to worry instead of leaning on the power of prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This is such a powerful verse in the Bible because it indicates that we have a choice in every situation to either worry or pray about the situation. God already knows what we need before we say anything, and prayer is such a powerful tool when we are in situations that seem too impossible to get out of.

Prayer allows us to get quiet before the Lord, bring our requests before Him, and hear from Him on what to do next. It’s amazing that once we pray and come to the Lord, we can experience a peace knowing that He will take care of whatever is concerning us when we come to Him in full trustworthiness.

Jesus even tells us that worry does not add a single moment to our lives and it does not benefit us in any way (Luke 12:25-26). Worry does not do anything but cause us to be in further confusion and anxiety and that’s not the will of God for our lives.

I want to encourage you today to pray. Pray instead of worry. Whatever situation you are facing, come to the Lord and bring your requests before Him. Talk to Him. Ask for intervention. Ask for wisdom. Ask for whatever you need and He will give it to you! He is our wonderful Heavenly Father and He is at the edge of His seat waiting for you to come to Him and ask for His help! He is our present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1)
