Have you ever felt in such a rut or thought that nothing was going to change? Well as a man thinks in his heart so he becomes (Proverbs 23:7) Oftentimes, the enemy will try to get you to think about things that are completely contrary to what God says about your future. We can even believe our thoughts don’t matter as long as they are not spoken! Can I tell you the truth? They do matter whether they are in your head and most importantly spoken out of your mouth! What we think about most, we gravitate towards because our minds are fixated on that issue or way of life. It’s not a coincidence that what people believe comes out of their mouth as well because out of the abundance of the heart (your mind, your will, your thoughts, emotions), the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45).
We realize that since this is the case, the change has to come from within us. We have to give ourselves as a living sacrifice to God, and let His Word renew our minds (Romans 12:2). Why? Because as we do this, we will understand the good, the pleasing, and the perfect will of God for our lives. However, it’s not until we decide to make that decision and instead of thinking about the past pain, and past failures, we can think about things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent and anything worthy of praise! (Philippians 4:8)
When we begin to change our thoughts, that changes our words, and that changes our circumstances. Trust me, I understand how hard it is to speak life over a situation that seems impossible and declare God is working all things out for my good (Romans 8:28) I understand when adversity comes and you feel discouraged to muster up the words to say I am more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37) I want to remind you that it’s in those moments that you NEED to speak the Word of God! It’s in those moments that you need to be careful of what comes out of your mouth because it can determine the course of the situation!
I want to encourage you today that whatever you are facing, it’s no surprise to God and He is waiting for you to invite Him into your life to help you fight those battles! You are not alone because God promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us, ever! That is a promise from the Lord, and when you get serious with God, He gets serious with you. When you draw close to God, He will draw close to you! (James 4:8) I urge you, to seek Him and seek Him diligently. Speak to Him. Pray to Him. Ask Him for His wisdom and spiritual understanding through whatever you are facing. He is faithful to answer those prayers! He is faithful to help you! You just have to invite Him and His word into your life on a daily basis and watch how quickly your circumstances change!
