Look Up, Child!

How often is it that when something happens to you, you look up? We tend to look at our circumstances, or put our heads down in shame of a mistake we made. I love what Psalm 121:1-2 says which is “I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!” I find it interesting that the Psalmist questions where His help comes from once He looks up to the mountains. It’s like he says to himself - no look up higher than that - your help comes from the Lord! He is the One you count on through everything. He is the very Creator of Heaven, earth and most importantly, YOU.

In Psalm 46:1 it says that God is our strength and our refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Whatever situation you may be facing right now, I want to encourage you to look up - child of God. God is right beside you. He is always ready to help you. He is always ready to strengthen you, and be your refuge from any harm the enemy tries to bring against you.

I understand that at times we get down on ourselves for that mistake we made, or something that we completely missed when we knew what to do. Do not look down - look up. Look up to the one who is willing to course correct you and not condemn you. Look up to the very one who loves you so much and care about every detail of your life! Though you stumble at times, He won’t let you fall for He holds you by the hand (Psalm 37:23-24) I want to encourage you today - to look up and remember who you serve! He is Our loving Heavenly Father! Amen!
